Ms.Neha Srivastava | Parkinson Disease and miRNA expression | Best Researcher AwardÂ
PhD Student Department of Neurology, Institute of Medical Science, Banaras Hindu University India
Neha Srivastava is a dedicated researcher specializing in Bioinformatics, Chromosomal, and Molecular Genetics. Currently pursuing a PhD from the Department of Neurology at Banaras Hindu University, her research focuses on the role of differentially expressed miRNAs and their correlation with heavy metals in Parkinson’s disease patients from the Gangetic region. Neha has previously worked as a Technical Assistant and Proteomics Operator at the Interdisciplinary School of Life Sciences (ISLS), Banaras Hindu University.
Profile
Education đ
Neha holds a PG Diploma in Chromosomal Genetics and Molecular Diagnostics (2015) from the Centre for Genetic Disorder, Banaras Hindu University, an MSc in Bioinformatics (2013) from Banaras Hindu University, and a BSc in Biotechnology (2011) from Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University. She completed her secondary and higher secondary education from U.P Board of High School and Intermediate, respectively.
Experience đź
Neha has significant experience in molecular biology techniques, chromosomal analysis, and next-generation sequencing. She has worked as a Technical Assistant and Proteomics Operator under the UGC-UPE Focus Area-II in the Interdisciplinary School of Life Sciences, Banaras Hindu University. Her expertise includes DNA and RNA isolation, PCR, gel electrophoresis, MALDI TOF, and various bioinformatics tools for sequence analysis and drug design.
Research Interest đŹ
Neha’s research interests are rooted in bioinformatics and genetics, particularly focusing on miRNAs, heavy metal correlations in Parkinson’s disease, and bioinformatics applications in disease identification and drug design. Her work aims to leverage advanced bioinformatics tools to unravel complex genetic and molecular pathways involved in neurodegenerative diseases.
Awards đ
Neha has received multiple awards for her research, including the first prize at the Mini Symposium on Interdisciplinary Research in Life Sciences in 2016. She has also been recognized for her significant contributions to conferences and symposiums, where she presented her findings on miRNAs and their role in Parkinson’s disease.
