Anirudha Chattopadhyay is an accomplished academic and researcher specializing in plant pathology and virology. He obtained his B.Sc. (Ag.) Hons. in Agriculture from Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan in 2008, followed by an M.Sc. (Ag.) in Mycology & Plant Pathology from Banaras Hindu University in 2010. He completed his Ph.D. in Plant Pathology with a specialization in Plant Virology from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi in 2020. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at S.D. Agricultural University since April 2014, Chattopadhyay has made significant contributions to his field. His research focuses on understanding plant viral diseases, genetic manipulation of plant viruses, and developing biotechnological tools for enhancing crop resilience.

Dr. Anirudha Chattopadhyay began his academic journey with a B.Sc.(Ag.) Hons. degree in Agriculture from Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan, in 2008. Dr. Anirudha Chattopadhyay has received notable professional recognition for his contributions to the field. In 2017, he was awarded the Best Paper presented (Oral) award (1st Prize) for his work on the “Exploration of biocontrol potential of nematophgous fungi: Status and opportunity” by Anand Agricultural University, Anand in collaboration with the Indian Phytopathological Society, New Delhi. More recently, in 2023, he secured the Best Paper presented (Oral) award (2nd Prize) for his research on the “In silico prediction of signatures in 3โ UTR of tobamoviruses for replication,” presented at Anand Agricultural University, Anand in collaboration with the Indian Society of Mycology and Plant Phytopathology, Udaipur.
